Vessel with watch-part lid
Tiny and fragile this vessel continues exploring the variety of the technique to create different vessels one must ask ‘Is it possible to contain the light in an open weave vessel?’ These are experiments of the different shapes possible using the same technique and different wires and mediums.
Meduim; 4mm magnetic copper wire. Magnetic wire; the polymer coating on magnetic wire is very durable, meant to conduct at high temperatures. Magnet copper wire is a copper wire coated with a very thin layer of insulation. It is used in the construction of transformers, inductors, motors, generators, speakers, hard disk head actuators, electromagnets, electric guitar pickups and other applications that require tight coils of insulated wire. The wire I use is annealed, electrolytically refined copper. The insulation is typically made of tough polymer film materials. I have not experienced this coating deteriorate on my work, that remains shiny.
