Major excitement! I entered the 2020 Brighton Sculpture Contest and went to the opening on Wednesday night and received the prize for Emerging Artist! To boot, one of the entries has already sold (a bloody bargain for many, many reasons). Only goes for another week so if you want to own the winning entry get in fast!

I had the smallest sculptures in this years competition, so I thought I'd show you just how small the smallest is; it fits on top of my index finger!

The winning entry was Waste Not Want Not. "Tiny waste bins, made from endlessly recyclable copper wire. Too tiny to hold real waste, too precious to waste." The other is simply Vessels. "These vessels grow of themselves; as you are making them, they dictate their own shape. Folding into your palm, fitting around your finger, they let you know the shape they want to be. Ancient forms, endlessly remaking themselves." I included a pic of the largest vessel in the making so you can see the details of the base.

I am continuing to explore these methods, so expect to see more of them in the future!
