Some experience and/or express this through the unified field theory physics and others nature. There are many names e.g. The Field, Source, Great Spirit.
There are many forms of Light decibels in the great mystical traditions of the world including Surrounding Light, Inner Light, Emanating Light, Indwelling Light, Projecting Light.
In addition, there are many words for Spiritual Light; including Phos is Greek, Phta in Ancient Egyptian, Phowa in Tibetan, Or in Hebrew and Bhasa in Sanskrit.
My Artists Statement.
Wire working is my ultimate artistic pleasure. Using the various weaves, knits, and crochets to create vessels and jewellery has become my pathway to spiritual harmony. The tiny vessels become a solid representation of the awe and peace that I experience during the making of the pieces.
Following is my interpretation of the words from writer Karen Marie Moning that resonated with me, and helped define and illuminate my experience with this technique. ‘Objects derive colour from their innate chemical structure—absorbing certain wavelengths and reflecting others. The soul has a light of its own that colours the world too: it is an essential light, the light of joy, of wonder, of hope. Without it, the world is dark; it doesn’t matter how many lights are turned on, everything is flat, grey, empty.’
When I found wire jewellery making, I found the first light of my soul. I had to follow that light and learn as much as I could about making jewellery. Fifteen years later, still following the light, I finally found how to execute this particular technique.
My soul has found joy; wonder; hope. My world is no longer dark. Whenever I am creating using these techniques, my heart soars, my mind is in an idyllic state of Zen, my spirit at peace, and I am flooded bursting with light.
All pieces are for sale and available through my website, by attending the exhibition or by contacting me personally.
